Kirby Caldwell is an interior designer based in Charleston, South Carolina with projects across the country. Kirby provides design services for boutique hospitality and residential clients, as well as creative direction and custom furniture and lighting design. KCI creates warm, layered interiors with a passion for sourcing antique and vintage pieces alongside the creation of bespoke furniture.

Post art and architecture school, Kirby’s career began in a dusty, old antique furniture shop in the New York City’s Chelsea district. After 10 years in the city working in antique and vintage furniture, product design for The Rug Company and on the interior design team for Soho House Design, she relocated to Charleston, South Carolina and co-founded the design firm Studio BOCA prior to launching Kirby Caldwell Inc.

KCI focuses on boutique hospitality development but has also had the opportunity to design a few very special private residences in New York, Montana and California. At KCI, our goal is to work collaboratively with the architect, contractor, and client to guide each project from its initial concept to completion.
